Sally studied at the University of Technology, Sydney and gained her Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Textiles and graduated with 2nd Class Honours. She then spent time in industry as a Designer for a Mid-Market ladies clothing label with 22 stores in Sydney & Melbourne. Sally was responsible for researching and designing the ranges to go into store in a timely manner. This included travel overseas, fabric sourcing, sketching designs, overseeing the production manager, patternmakers and sample machinists. Also ensuring the fit of all designs was correct with the chosen fabrics and trims.
Sally has all round skills and great insight into the Fashion Industry. After returning to Tasmania over 10 years ago Sally began teaching at TAFE in the areas of design, textiles, pattern making, machining, WH&S and sustainability. Sally is the designer/manufacturer behind ‘cocorose’ designer scarves which have been featured at the ‘Niche Market’. Sally is a qualified Trainer and Assessor and enjoys teaching students new skills.
